Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 28th meeting of the GCC Information Ministers, which convened in the State of Kuwait. Leading Oman’s delegation was Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting addressed various topics focused on enhancing media cooperation across GCC states. Discussions included joint media efforts, initiatives, and projects for the GCC Strategic Media Cooperation Plan (2023-2030) proposed by member states. Other agenda items covered the age classification of electronic games, guidelines for Gulf media production, and strengthening media partnerships with regional and international organizations. The meeting also explored initiatives for employing artificial intelligence in media production, training programs for Gulf media leadership, and strategies to support family and societal cohesion through media.
In alignment with these discussions, a pilot version of a joint electronic application for GCC news agencies was introduced, marking a significant step during the 28th meeting of the Information Ministers in Kuwait.
