Al Rusayl:Oman Cables Industry has commenced the construction of its third manufacturing plant with an investment exceeding RO 10 million in Al Rusayl Industrial City. The foundation stone was laid under the auspices of Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.
According to Oman News Agency, this development is part of a strategic investment program exceeding RO 15 million, aimed at enhancing industrial and manufacturing capabilities in Oman. It seeks to meet the growing demands of the energy and infrastructure sectors in the region. The new plant will deploy AI-powered technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability, while fostering Omani talent and leadership.
The project aligns with "Oman Vision 2040" goals, focusing on industrial sector competitiveness and efficient infrastructure with lower environmental impact. The plant will feature the first cable manufacturing tower in Oman, standing 42 meters tall, and will handle large cable drums, supporting increased demands in energy and infrastructure.
The design incorporates an integrated digital ecosystem, including AI-enhanced quality control and safety systems, and lean manufacturing standards. Sustainability initiatives in energy efficiency and circular economy are integral, supporting low-carbon manufacturing across operations.
The plant will create over 60 jobs, emphasizing skill development and leadership among Omanis. A strategic partnership with Prysmian Group offers opportunities for knowledge transfer and global expertise, benefiting local manufacturing and strengthening Oman's industrial sector.
Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi highlighted the plant as a strategic move to bolster Oman's industrial capabilities, offering locally manufactured products for domestic and international markets. This supports economic diversification and the "Oman Vision 2040" targets.
Cinzia Farisè, Chairperson of Oman Cables Industry, noted the plant's role in expanding operations from cable manufacturing to integrated solutions, enhancing market presence and sustainable value for stakeholders. The ceremony included signing a structural element for the plant, marking a new phase in the company's journey.
Oman Cables Industry, with over 40 years of expertise, combines a strong manufacturing base in Oman with operations in the GCC and India, supported by its partnership with Prysmian Group to innovate and develop sustainable solutions for regional markets.
