Oman and South Africa Explore Joint Economic and Tourism Initiatives

Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, held a meeting with Anna Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions centered on potential areas of collaboration between Oman and South Africa, with a focus on organizing a joint economic forum in Muscat. Both parties expressed interest in boosting tourism cooperation by facilitating procedures and encouraging tourism-related initiatives.

The dialogue also covered regional issues, where Sheikh Al Harthy expressed appreciation for South Africa’s stance against the genocide affecting Palestinians due to the Israeli conflict. Deputy Minister Moraka recognized Oman’s role in addressing regional issues through peaceful methods.

The meeting was attended by Saleh Mohammed Al Saqri, Head of the East Africa Department at the Foreign Ministry, David Mogobo, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Oman, and other officials from both nations.
