Oman and Saudi Arabia Sign MoU to Strengthen Cybersecurity Cooperation

Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of Cybersecurity on the sidelines of the Global Cybersecurity Forum currently being held in Riyadh.

According to Oman News Agency, the MoU was signed between Oman’s National Cyber Defense Centre and Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority. This agreement is part of the efforts by the Security and Judicial Coordination Committee, which stems from the Omani-Saudi Coordination Council. It is designed to integrate efforts and strengthen the partnership between the two nations, facilitating the exchange of expertise to enhance digital security and stability.

The MoU aims to support bilateral cooperation in cybersecurity by focusing on the development of national capabilities and readiness to confront and mitigate growing cyber challenges and threats. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the protection of critical infrastructure and ensure a safe and trusted cyberspace.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Oman by Eng. Khamis Salim Al Hajri, Head of the National Cyber Defense Centre, and on behalf of Saudi Arabia by Eng. Majed Mohammed Al Mazyed, Governor of the Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority.
