Oman and Bulgaria Explore Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Muscat: The first round of Political Consultations Session between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Bulgaria took place in Muscat today. The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while Maria Anguelieva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, headed the Bulgarian delegation.

According to Oman News Agency, the session evaluated the current bilateral relations between the two nations and confirmed their mutual intention to further develop cooperation in several areas. The discussions included the potential exchange of opening embassies in each other’s countries. Furthermore, both sides addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, with particular attention to the implications of the Israeli war on Gaza.

The session saw the participation of Mundhir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, and Todor Stoyanov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with various officials from both nations.
