Oman and Azerbaijan Discuss Strengthening Parliamentary and Legislative Ties

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan engaged in discussions today in Muscat, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the parliamentary and legislative arenas. This dialogue unfolded during separate meetings held by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, and Sheikh Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, with Prof. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, accompanied by her delegation.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions highlighted the significance of parliamentary relations, underscoring that these ties align with the strengthening connections between the two countries, driven by the commitment of their leaderships to foster cooperation across various sectors. The meetings examined ways to enhance the existing collaboration between Oman and Azerbaijan, accompanied by an exchange of perspectives on several regional and international matters of mutual interest.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Prof. Sahiba Gafarova, lauded the progression of bilateral relations and the shared visions uniting the two countries. She noted that these common objectives contribute to development and prosperity in economic, cultural, tourism, and legislative sectors. Additionally, she emphasized the continuous efforts to bolster mutual investments between Oman and Azerbaijan.
