Muscat: Oil prices eased today after climbing by as much as 6 per cent in the previous session on signs of US attempts to open the Strait of Hormuz. Brent oil futures for July fell by 68 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $113.76 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $1.59, or 1.5 per cent, to $104.83, after gaining 4.4 per cent in the previous session.
According to Oman News Agency, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday that it began supporting "Project Freedom" to help merchant vessels get through the Strait of Hormuz.
