North A’Sharqiyah Municipal Council Discusses Success of Winter Festivals

Musandam:: The Municipal Council of North A'Sharqiyah Governorate today held a meeting during which it discussed the success made in winter festivals, evidence to which was the large turnout of visitors from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad. The meeting was chaired by Mahmoud Yahya Al Duhli, Governor of North A'Sharqiyah.

According to Oman News Agency, the Municipal Council lauded the success of North A'Sharqiyah Governorate's winter festivals held in the wilayats of Bidiyah, Dima W'Attayeen and Sinaw, in addition to other winter events in the wilayats of Ibra, Al Mudhaibi, Al Qabil and Wadi Bani Khalid. The events included horse races, camel races, shooting competitions, popular games and recreational activities.

The Municipal Council also reviewed the recommendations of its standing committees and discussed replies to queries from government institutions. The Council hosted representatives of the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate. Its meeting with the representatives discussed major challenges posed to the sectors of agriculture and water resources in the governorate over the years 2024 to 2026. It also discussed means of consolidating sustainability and making optimal use of available resources.
