Sohar: The Ministry of Labour organized today a forum in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate, titled “The Importance of the National Strategy for Professional Standards in Enhancing Work Performance.” The event was held under the auspices of Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah.
According to Oman News Agency, Zaher bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director General of the Professional Standards Directorate and Project Manager for the Strategy at the Ministry of Labour, emphasized that the forum is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to implement the strategy across the governorates and raise awareness of its objectives and mechanisms.
Dr. Hilal bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Chairman of the Oman Manufacturers Association, stated that this forum supports the march of national industry, emphasizing its pivotal role in building a diversified and sustainable economy. He added that the association seeks to translate the strategy into practical programs, foremost of which is the qualification of national talent through the Industrial Sector Skills Unit.
He affirmed that the industrial sector continues to undertake a key role in creating quality employment opportunities, developing the legislative environment, facilitating the export of Omani products, enhancing local content in coordination with the Tender Board, and finding solutions to challenges in collaboration with relevant authorities.
