NCCHT Affirms Oman’s Commitment to Protect Society

Muscat: The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) has highlighted the issuance of Royal Decree No. 78/2025, which enacted the ‘Law on Combating Human Trafficking,’ as a testament to the Sultanate of Oman’s dedication to upholding human dignity and opposing injustice and exploitation.

According to Oman News Agency, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and Chairman of the NCCHT, stated that this law underscores Oman’s pledge to safeguard society from threats to its security or stability. Al Harthy emphasized that protecting human rights is a core component of Oman’s national and social duties, aligning the law with international standards and reflecting the nation’s commitment to noble human values.

Al Harthy noted that the law effectively balances prevention and deterrence, boosts support for victims, and ensures the safety of both citizens and residents in Oman. He further remarked that the legislation reinforces the perspective that Oman will continue to be a bastion of dignity and security for its populace and residents.
