Muscat:The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the National Risk Register, has officially launched the National Enterprise Risk Management Governance Framework. This initiative was held under the auspices of Dr. Mahad Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, aiming to enhance the institutional governance system and improve government performance efficiency.

According to Oman News Agency, the framework seeks to establish a unified national reference for risk management across government entities. It aligns with the objectives of "Oman Vision 2040" and focuses on developing the state's administrative apparatus to better handle future challenges. This launch also coincides with the International Day for Disaster Reduction, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and risk mitigation.

Said Abdullah Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development, highlighted that the framework represents a shift towards a proactive risk management approach. It aims to integrate risk management into the government management system, linking it directly with strategic planning and decision-making processes. This integration is expected to elevate government resource utilization efficiency and improve service quality.

The framework promotes the concept of risk ownership, making it a shared responsibility across various organizational units. It also focuses on building national capacities in risk management and fostering a culture of emergency preparedness and response. By doing so, it supports the continuity of critical services and enhances the resilience of government institutions.

The launch was marked by presentations and discussions on the importance of the framework in unifying methodologies and developing mechanisms for risk escalation and information exchange. Experts emphasized the need for institutional integration to enhance readiness and address risks that transcend individual sectors.
