National Center for Wildlife Releases 60 Seabirds at Al Azizyah Beach


Riyadh: The National Center for Wildlife (NCW) has released 60 seabirds at Al Aziziyah Beach in the Eastern Province, within their natural distribution range, following rehabilitation. This initiative underscores international commitments and efforts to preserve these species. NCW has reintroduced three great egrets, seven Caspian gulls, 46 black-headed gulls, and four Slender-billed gulls to fulfill their environmental roles and enhance biodiversity and ecological balance.

CEO of NCW Dr. Muhammad Ali Qurban emphasized that releasing these seabirds post-rehabilitation aligns with the Center’s dedication to achieving its objectives in wildlife sustainability, ecosystem preservation, and enrichment, while also safeguarding biodiversity. He highlighted that this action contributes to fulfilling international commitments and efforts to preserve these species for their environmental functions.
