The Commander of Anbar Operations in the Popular Mobilization, Qassem Musleh, announced, on Wednesday, the initiation of a wide security operation in the Anbar desert, stressing that the operation targets the largest and most dangerous valleys in the province.
Musleh said in a statement, "the operation includes (12) axes from the areas east of Akashat Road down towards the areas west of Haditha," adding that "the operation targets" Wadi Al-Kara and Wadi Al-Halkoum "and valleys in other areas, according to targets set in coordination with the Popular Mobilization and joint operations, and with air coverage by the Iraqi army, with the support and attribution of the directorates of the Popular Mobilization Authority.
He added that "the Anbar Operations Command of the PMF participated in four brigades (13-17-18-19) and in five axes," noting that "two regiments from the 55th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces and a force from the Iraqi army and the Jazeera and Badia Operations Command participated in the operation.
