Riffa: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, conducted a field visit to the Riffa Walkway development project in the Southern Governorate. He was accompanied by Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture; Abdullah Ibrahim Abdulatif, Head of the Southern Municipal Council; Isa Abdulrahman Al Buainain, Director General of the Southern Municipality; and Ali Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, Municipal Council member.
According to Bahrain News Agency, approximately 60% of the project has been completed, with the final delivery anticipated by the end of this year. The 36,018-square-metre development involves the renovation of shading structures, playgrounds, lighting, and public facilities, as well as the installation of modern sports equipment. Additionally, the project includes resurfacing and painting of asphalt and the planting of 400 new trees.
The ministry has concentrated on enhancing greening efforts as part of a broader initiative to improve public facilities. This plan encompasses coasts, parks, walkways, playgrounds, and recreational areas, aiming to align with international standards.
