MSX Index Sees Marginal Gain Amidst Drop in Trading Value

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) general index (30) saw a slight increase today, gaining 1.5 points, representing a rise of 0.03% to close at 4616.88 points. This is a modest improvement compared to the last trading session, which closed at 4615.37 points.

According to Oman News Agency, the trading value today was recorded at RO 2,376,585, marking a significant decrease of 41.85% compared to the previous session’s value of RO 4,087,018. Despite the drop in trading value, the market value experienced a slight uptick of 0.047%, reaching approximately RO 28.08 billion.

The report from MSX highlighted that the value of shares purchased by non-Omani investors amounted to RO 692,000, constituting 29.10% of the total. Conversely, the value of shares sold by non-Omani investors totaled RO 425,000, accounting for 17.87%. This resulted in a net increase in non-Omani investment by 11.23%, amounting to RO 267,000.
