MSX Index Declines by 46 Points Amid Rising Trading Value

Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX 30) index experienced a notable decline, closing at 5,078.18 points after shedding 46.6 points, or 0.91%, from the previous session’s close of 5,124.80 points. Despite the drop in the index, the trading value saw a significant increase.

According to Oman News Agency, the trading value on the Muscat Stock Exchange reached RO 21,660,598, marking a 26.3% rise compared to the last session’s value of RO 17,152,489. However, the market value decreased by 0.450% from the previous trading day, reaching approximately RO 29.93 billion.

The report highlighted the activity of non-Omani investors, whose share purchases amounted to RO 2,992,000, representing 13.82% of the total trading value. Their sales, however, totaled RO 3,318,000, or 15.32%, resulting in a net investment outflow by non-Omanis of RO 326,000, equivalent to 1.50%.
