Ministry of Information Set to Launch Khareef Dhofar 2025 Media Programs

Muscat: The Ministry of Information is poised to launch a comprehensive media initiative tomorrow to spotlight the Khareef Dhofar Season 2025. This ambitious endeavor aims to showcase the tourism, cultural, natural, and heritage attractions of Dhofar Governorate during the monsoon season, running until August 31.

According to Oman News Agency, the integrated plan features a robust lineup of visual, audio, and digital programs with interactive content and live field coverage designed to reach audiences both locally and internationally. Oman TV will spearhead the coverage with its program “People and Khareef,” which returns with a renewed format. This daily show, airing from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, will highlight Dhofar’s landscapes and tourism activities, featuring contributions from Omani, GCC, and Arab media professionals.

The evening program “Khareef Nights” will be broadcast live from the “Return of the Past” event site in Al Sa’ada, Salalah. Scheduled from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Oman General and Oman Cultural channels, the program will cover heritage, cultural, and artistic activities. Additionally, Oman Radio will air the Khareef’s Radio Programme ‘Atheer’ daily from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location, featuring studio interviews and AI-powered segments on Dhofar.

Youth Radio will engage younger audiences with “Khareef and Youth,” broadcasting from Jebel Ateen studio daily between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, focusing on artistic, cultural, and social themes. In parallel, Oman News Agency has already commenced its coverage with news reports, features, photos, and videos across digital platforms, social media, and smart apps, enhancing the visibility of the region’s tourism assets and socio-cultural interactions.

Oman newspaper has been providing ongoing coverage since June 21 through print and digital reports, alongside social media content that delves into the festivities. The Ministry of Information’s General Directorate of Digital Media is also contributing by enhancing engagement through interactive competitions and multilingual visitor interviews.

The ‘Ayn’ platform is set to deliver live coverage from Oman Radio and TV for all activities related to the Khareef Dhofar season. This platform has also introduced a children’s program aimed at promoting Dhofar as a family-friendly destination through edutainment content. Furthermore, Oman’s Information Portal, available in eight languages, offers dedicated Khareef content to bolster Oman’s global digital presence. This portal stands as one of the Ministry of Information’s most prominent platforms.
