Madinah Development Authority Participates in Planning Ministry Event at UN


Al Madinah Region Development Authority took part in the event “Stimulating Local Action for the Sustainable Development Goals,” organized by the Ministry of Economy and Planning during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development at the United Nations headquarters in New York City from July 8 to 18.

During the event, Al Madinah Region Development Authority Executive Director of Data and Innovation Engineer Abdulrahman bin Hassan Ibrahim highlighted the importance of having accurate urban data to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He showcased the efforts of the Urban Observatory at the Madinah Development Authority in this area, noting Madinah’s leadership in localizing the SDGs at both national and international levels. The city’s achievement of the gold certification in the SDG Cities program of the UN-Habitat agency was also highlighted, making it the first Arab city and the third globally to do so. This participation reflects the authority’s commitment to promoting su
stainable development in the region.
