Muscat: The Ministry of Interior has started accepting applications from citizens who wish to run in the Fourth Term Municipal Council elections. This announcement coincided with the Ministry’s participation in the 34th edition of the Global Technology Exhibition “COMEX 2025”, which commenced today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
According to Oman News Agency, the Interior Ministry specified that citizens aged 21 and older, who are legally eligible to run, can submit their applications through three distinct methods: the Election app, the official elections website (elections.om), or by consulting the AI-enhanced virtual character available at the Ministry’s exhibition booth. The Ministry emphasized the necessity for applicants to ensure their identity cards are equipped with the PKI electronic authentication system for proper processing of their applications.
