Salalah: Huawei ICT Academy was inaugurated today in the Wilayat of Salalah, in collaboration with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Salalah. The opening ceremony was graced by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Shahri, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the University in Salalah, emphasized that the establishment of the Huawei ICT Academy is part of a strategic cooperation aimed at fulfilling the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The academy focuses on developing future digital skills and bridging the gap between educational outcomes and industry requirements.
Dr. Al Shahri highlighted that the academy will provide avenues for practical training, enabling students to earn internationally recognized certificates and enhancing their readiness to enter the labor market. The academy is also the first Huawei-accredited training center in Dhofar Governorate for obtaining the 'Huawei Certified ICT Associate' (HCIA) certificate.
Mazin Salim Al Hinai, Director of Public Relations at Huawei in the Sultanate of Oman, mentioned that the academy's program provides training opportunities in critical technical areas such as networks, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and software development.
The inauguration event included a visual presentation that showcased the relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, highlighting various cooperative aspects between UTAS and Huawei and the stages involved in establishing the academy.
