HM The Sultan Meets Qatari Prime Minister to Discuss Regional Peace Efforts

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, at Al Barakah Palace.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting began with the Qatari Prime Minister conveying greetings from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. The Emir wished His Majesty good health and happiness, and prosperity for the Omani people. In response, His Majesty expressed his own good wishes for the Emir and the people of Qatar.

The discussions focused on the ongoing US-Iranian negotiations, which are being mediated by Qatar and Pakistan. The leaders also reviewed recent diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict and achieve a comprehensive settlement. His Majesty emphasized the importance of advancing these diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region and stressed the need for cooperation among nations.

The Qatari Prime Minister commended Oman's significant role, under His Majesty's leadership, in fostering dialogue and facilitating communication between conflicting parties. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both Oman and Qatar, including Oman's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Qatar's Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
