Salalah: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik granted an audience to Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah. The meeting coincides with the Iraqi Prime Minister’s two-day official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, during which an official session of talks was also held.
According to Oman News Agency, the discussions centered on enhancing cooperation and partnership between Oman and Iraq, focusing on the fields of energy and investment. The talks aimed at fostering collaboration to benefit both Omani and Iraqi peoples. Participants in the talks included high-ranking officials from both countries, such as HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and Dr. Fuad Hussein, Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
The Prime Minister of Iraq arrived in Oman earlier, where he and his delegation were welcomed at Salalah’s private airport by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said. The ceremony included playing the national anthem of Iraq and involved a reception by a distinguished group of Omani ministers and senior officials. The visit signifies a step towards strengthening bilateral relations and exploring mutual opportunities in various sectors.
