Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has enacted three new Royal decrees, each addressing key legislative and diplomatic areas within the Sultanate of Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, the first of these, Royal Decree No. (27/2026), pertains to the adoption of the Uniform GCC Law of Industrial Regulation. This decree replaces the previously established law under Royal Decree No. 61/2008. Its provisions are set to become effective 30 days after their publication in the Official Gazette, highlighting a significant shift in industrial regulatory frameworks as approved by the Council of Oman.
The second decree, Royal Decree No. (28/2026), introduces amendments to the Common Customs Law of the GCC States, originally instituted by Royal Decree No. 67/2003. These amendments, also approved by the Council of Oman, are intended to enhance customs regulations and will take effect immediately following their publication in the Official Gazette.
The third decree, Royal Decree No. (29/2026), involves a key diplomatic appointment. Thamer bin Fayez bin Khalfan Al Alawi has been appointed as Oman's non-resident ambassador to the Principality of Andorra, while maintaining his position as ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
