HM The Sultan Enacts Changes to Social Protection Fund Bylaw

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Decree No. 41/2025, introducing amendments to the Bylaw of the Social Protection Fund.

According to Oman News Agency, the decree mandates that Article 9 of the Social Protection Fund Bylaw, initially established by Royal Decree No. 50/2023, will be replaced. The new stipulation states that the management and regulation of the Fund will be overseen by a Board of Directors, which will be appointed by the Council of Ministers. This Board will include the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chairman of the General Federation of Oman Workers among its members. The Board is also empowered to engage experts and advisers for consultations, who can partake in meetings and discussions without holding a voting right.

Furthermore, Article (2) of the decree annuls any prior provisions that conflict with the new amendments. Article (3) specifies that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into effect the day after its publication.
