HM The Sultan, Belarusian President Stress Importance of Boosting Cooperation

Minsk: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus have emphasized the importance of boosting cooperation in the fields of education and culture to deepen bilateral relations and bring the peoples of the two countries closer. They noted that the joint industrial cooperation projects currently under development will positively impact the growth of bilateral economic relations.

According to Oman News Agency, this was stated in a joint communiqu© issued on the occasion of the state visit made by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Republic of Belarus on 6-7 October 2025. The communiqu© highlights the leaders’ commitment to enhancing cooperation between Oman and Belarus and addressing international and regional issues of common interest.

The discussions included progress on agreements from previous high-level visits in 2024 and 2025, focusing on food security, agriculture, industry, logistics, healthcare, tourism, and culture. Both leaders appreciated efforts to boost bilateral trade and expand the exchange of goods, such as Belarusian food products and industrial machinery, and Omani products of interest to Belarus.

The communiqu© mentioned joint projects in infant formula production, dairy products, and machinery assembly in Oman, which are expected to foster economic relations. The leaders also expressed readiness to expand investment cooperation in agriculture, IT, furniture, and pulp and paper production.

The signing of an agreement in May 2025 to establish a Joint Committee for Cooperation and Investment was lauded, with a focus on enhancing coordination between Omani and Belarusian entities. The importance of the direct flight program on the Minsk-Salalah-Minsk route, launched in February 2025, was also emphasized to boost tourism.

The leaders underscored the significance of developing direct business communication, participating in exhibitions, and cultural exchanges, highlighted by the mutual visa waiver agreement. They agreed on establishing a legal foundation to continue strengthening relations and implementing practical programs and action plans.

Both sides affirmed shared stances on global issues, compliance with the UN Charter, and readiness for cooperation within international organizations. They condemned coercive measures and unilateral sanctions, aiming for a just international system.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik expressed gratitude for the hospitality received and invited President Lukashenko to visit Oman.
