Doha: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, led the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha. The summit witnessed the participation of Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses, the heads of the delegations present.
According to Oman News Agency, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, welcomed HH Sayyid Shihab upon his arrival. The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed respects from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and acknowledged Qatar’s efforts in hosting the summit during a critical global period.
HH Sayyid Shihab addressed the summit, condemning the attack on Qatar and reaffirming Oman’s solidarity with Qatar. He emphasized the need for legal and diplomatic actions to hold Israel accountable for its actions and advocated for a unified Arab and Islamic response to prevent further aggression and uphold international law.

n his opening speech, highlighted the impact of Israeli aggression on Qatar’s mediation efforts in Gaza, stressing the necessity of peace and the rejection of imposed agendas by Israel.
Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, also expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli actions against Qatar, urging the United Nations Security Council to ensure accountability.
The summit focused on developing a coordinated response to Israel’s strike on Qatari soil, reinforcing cooperation to tackle regional challenges, and supporting efforts for a Gaza ceasefire. The central importance of the Palestinian cause and achieving a comprehensive solution in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative were reiterated.
The Omani delegation included key ministers and officials, emphasizing the significance of the summit and Oman’s commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
