Health Ministry Advances National Policy on Non-Communicable Diseases

Muscat: The Ministry of Health today organized a consultative session to update the National Policy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases.

According to Oman News Agency, the session included representatives from various sectors, focusing on ensuring comprehensiveness and integration. It aimed to identify gaps, establish national priorities, and exchange views on standard governance methods, evaluation, and follow-up mechanisms. HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University and Chairperson of the National Committee for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases, highlighted the progress made by Oman in tackling non-communicable diseases. She emphasized the importance of cooperation and teamwork to achieve the policy’s goals.

Dr. Ahmed Salem Al Mandhari, Undersecretary for Health Planning and Regulation at the Ministry of Health, provided an overview of the National Policy for Non-Communicable Diseases during the session.
