Health Minister Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hassan the second meeting of the national taskforce to combat chronic (non-communicable) diseases.
The minister stressed the importance of continuing preventive plans and health projects aimed at preserving the health and safety of all members of Bahraini society, by limiting the spread of chronic diseases and avoiding their complications and repercussions on public health.
A number of initiatives aimed at combating obesity, raising food awareness in society, educating the consumer about the nutritional value of the meals provided, and promoting consumer health and safety were also discussed.
