France, UK Propose Partial One-Month Truce in Ukraine

London: French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France and the United Kingdom are proposing a one-month truce in Ukraine, which would include a halt to attacks on air, sea, and energy infrastructure.

According to Oman News Agency, Macron made these remarks following a special summit on Ukraine held in London. He emphasized that any deployment of European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine would occur in the later stages and is not expected to take place within the upcoming weeks.

Macron also called for an increase in defense spending among European countries, suggesting a target between 3% and 3.5% of their GDP. This recommendation comes in light of shifting policies in the United States under President Donald Trump. The summit in London gathered numerous European officials to deliberate on support measures for Ukraine and to address European defense concerns.
