Musandam: The fourth leg of the “Scientific Caravans” program for 2025 launched in the Wilayat of Khasab, Musandam Governorate today. Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the initiative represents part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to disseminate knowledge and promote scientific awareness and innovation throughout Oman’s governorates.
According to Oman News Agency, the opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.
The Scientific Caravans project demonstrates a firm commitment to supporting research projects, innovation programs, and scientific capabilities that enhance competitiveness and strengthen the knowledge-based economy. The program also establishes effective partnerships between higher education institutions and private sector entities while encouraging Omani youth to engage in research and innovation, ultimately helping them establish startups grounded in scientific research and aligned with the objectives of “Oman Vision 2040.”
This program reflects the Ministry’s dedication to building communication channels between researchers, academics, and local communities, while enhancing a culture of science, knowledge, and innovation across society. These efforts help identify national scientific talents and empower them to contribute to sustainable development.
Additionally, the Scientific Caravans aim to share successful research experiences across Oman’s various governorates and create new opportunities for collaboration between educational and research institutions and both public and private sectors. This supports the development of a knowledge economy founded on research and development.
