Forum Discusses Means of Enhancing Competitiveness of Intellectual Production System

Muscat: The Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, represented by the Center for Strategic and Defence Studies, today organized the events of the 2025 Thought Forum under the theme “Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Intellectual Production System to Support Decision-Makers.”

According to Oman News Agency, the forum was held under the patronage of Mag.Gen Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, with the participation of a number of specialists and stakeholders in this field from military, security, and civil departments.

Held at the Military and Security Services Pension Fund, the forum covered several key themes. These included foresighting the future of the academic and advisory system in serving decision-makers, empowering national research and advisory efforts to enhance competitiveness and sustainable development, developing the national infrastructure for scientific research and leveraging artificial intelligence, in addition to building national research capacities and enhancing competencies through partnerships and international cooperation.

The forum also featured presentations on the experiences of global study centers, lessons learned, and prospects for application.

The forum aimed to empower the national system supporting decision-makers in government entities, define the necessary regulatory frameworks for establishing an integrated national environment, study aspects of cooperation and integration among knowledge-producing entities, and enhance the competitiveness of national consulting firms in the local market.
