Foreign Minister and Belarusian Counterpart Discuss Cooperation and Regional Stability

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, to discuss means of enhancing cooperation and regional developments.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on the longstanding ties of friendship and cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus. The ministers explored ways to further strengthen and develop these ties across various domains to serve the mutual interests of both nations.

The discussions also addressed ongoing developments related to the war in the region and its wide-ranging repercussions. Both ministers emphasized the importance of de-escalation and the cessation of all military actions. They underscored the necessity of adhering to the principles of international law, respecting state sovereignty, and advancing peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy. These efforts aim to contribute to regional and international security and stability, while ensuring the sustainability of energy supply chains and the safety of international trade routes.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Nasser bin Sulaiman Al Harthy, Ambassador Munther bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, and Yevgeny Sobolevsky, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Sultanate of Oman.
