Fifth Edition of ‘National Programme for Equal Opportunities’ Kicks Off in Salalah Free Zone

Salalah: The 5th edition of the ‘National Programme for Equal Opportunities’ kicked off today at Salalah Free Zone. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), and attended by government officials, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and investors.

According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Tabuk, CEO of Salalah Free Zone, highlighted the importance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as a fundamental part of the economy. He emphasized the role of SMEs in generating employment opportunities and fostering innovation. Tabuk noted that initiatives supporting SMEs reflect Salalah Free Zone’s dedication to promoting social responsibility and integrating sustainability practices through educational, youth, and community programs. He also mentioned the zone’s encouragement of green industries and environment-friendly projects, contributing to a diversified economy and enhancing the competitiveness of Omani products regionally and globally.

The 5th edition of the ‘National Programme for Equal Opportunities’ included the signing of agreements between SMEs and companies operating at the Salalah Free Zone. The programme aims to strengthen supply chains, open new avenues for cooperation, and provide opportunities for local establishments to offer services in major industrial and logistics projects.

The event featured an exhibition displaying products and services offered by participating SMEs. The programme aligns with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, particularly in developing promising emerging sectors.
