Muscat: The Environment Authority today signed two agreements to consolidate environmental inspection and develop infrastructure at nature reserves. The agreements stem from efforts to protect the environment, raise the efficiency of field performance, and support sustainable environmental development.
According to Oman News Agency, the agreements were signed by Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, and Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Security and Safety Services Corporation. The first agreement provides for the implementation of environmental inspection and monitoring work to control environmental violations in different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. It also includes drafting reports and entering data into electronic systems in accordance with the procedures adopted by the Environment Authority.
The second agreement stipulated the implementation of the first phase of Al Saleel Natural Park's development project in the Wilayat of Al Kamil W'Al Wafi. The project aims to promote ecotourism, preserve biodiversity, and develop the park's infrastructure and service facilities to meet the needs of the public.
