Al buraimi: The Entrepreneurship Week, an event organized by the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development “Riyada”, kicked off in Al Buraimi Governorate today. The initiative aims to inculcate a culture of entrepreneurship in the community and empower entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and business women. It also seeks to enable emerging entrepreneurs to acquire new skills that will contribute to the development of their projects.
According to Oman News Agency, the programme for the Entrepreneurship Week includes specialized workshops run by experts in entrepreneurship, project management, and business development. The week will also feature an exhibition of technology and craft industries, as well as a forum that will serve as a platform for dialogue among entrepreneurs, investors, and supporting institutions.
The programme includes an event titled ‘SME Kids’ targeting youngsters aged 10 to 15 years. ‘SME Kids’ is designed to instill the concepts of entrepreneurship, the culture of self-employment, and innovation in the young generation. Another significant feature of the week is the ‘Entrepreneurship Talk,’ where a group of Omani entrepreneurs will elaborate on their experiences and share success stories and common challenges.
The opening ceremony of the Entrepreneurship Week was attended by Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, Halima Rashid Al Zar’ee, Chairperson of the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development “Riyada,” along with government officials, entrepreneurs, crafts people, and students.
