Embassy of Qatar in Muscat Organizes Events to Mark Sports Day 2026

Muscat: The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Sultanate of Oman today organized a number of events to mark Qatar Sports Day 2026. The events, which took place at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, were held under the auspices of Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, in the presence of the staff of the office of Qatar Military Attach©.

According to Oman News Agency, Sheikh Mubarak emphasized that the State of Qatar celebrates Sports Day every year in February, following a tradition that underscores the country's dedication to promoting public health and fostering a culture of physical activity. 'The Sports Day embodies Qatar's vision of making sports a way of life and a bridge for communication among members of society,' he stated.

Al Thani highlighted that the Sports Day features a variety of sports competitions and recreational activities that gather different age groups under the banner of sports. It aims to cultivate a spirit of teamwork and unity, while also enhancing physical fitness and community health and well-being.

The Sports Day events included activities such as football, table tennis, and tug-of-war. The embassy's initiative to hold this event in Oman signifies its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties of cooperation, culture, and communication with the community in Oman.
