The city of Riyadh is set to host the 8th Saudi Optometry Conference from 26 to 28 October 2023, with the participation of 60 speakers from the Kingdom and abroad, during which they are scheduled to review 80 scientific papers, organizers said today.
The President of the Saudi Society of Optometry Dr. Waleed Alghamdi, who is also chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, said that the event, which is held annually, aims to discuss and develop the latest developments in the field of clinical optics, in addition to holding specialized workshops and an exhibition of the latest findings in optics technologies and vision sciences.
He added that the conference’s topics, organized in cooperation with the American Academy of Optometry, include examining and treating corneal diseases, correcting refractive defects, rehabilitating the visually impaired, diagnosing and treating vision problems in children, and combating visual impairment.
