Dhofar Municipal Council Reviews Annual Report and Future Development Initiatives

Dhofar: The Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate today convened a meeting to evaluate the annual report detailing the tasks the Council has undertaken over the past year. The discussion also included an assessment of the progress on development projects and an exchange of views on follow-up reports by its committees. The meeting was chaired by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar and Chairman of the Municipal Council.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting included a review of initiatives implemented in 2025, which focused on promoting public health, empowering the local community through artificial intelligence applications, and child upbringing programs. The initiatives also aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of developing skills needed to enter the labor market.

The Municipal Council examined follow-up reports submitted by the Health and Environment Committee, the Legal Committee, and the Social Affairs Committee. Discussions included responses from government departments regarding public services. Notably, the Ministry of Health provided feedback on the proposed establishment of a new hospital in the Wilayat of Sadah as part of the current five-year plan (2026-2030). The Directorate General of Heritage and Tourism also offered insights on standards regulating taxi parking in hotel waiting areas, specifically for 4-star and 5-star hotels.

Additionally, the council deliberated on the implementation of a series of development projects designed to enhance the tourism and entertainment sectors within the governorate.
