Dhofar: The ‘Dhofar International Arabian Horse Beauty Pageant 2025’ is set to commence tomorrow in the Wilayat of Mirbat, within the Governorate of Dhofar. The event will run from August 20 to 22, 2025.
According to Oman News Agency, the championship is being jointly organized by the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and Dhofar Tourism Company. This initiative is part of a program aimed at bolstering Dhofar governorate’s standing as a leading destination for hosting international championships.
The contest marks its first international edition, building on the success of the Dhofar National Arabian Horse Beauty Pageant 2025. This year, more than 50 purebred Arabian horses are set to participate, highlighting Dhofar Governorate’s growing presence on the regional and international events map.
Dhofar International Arabian Horse Pageant has received accreditation from the European Conference of Arabian Horse Organizations (ECAHO). This places Dhofar Governorate on the international agenda for Arabian horse beauty championships, aligning with the governorate’s aspirations to become a central hub for horse owners, breeders, investors, and international parties interested in equestrian sports.
The championship also features a cultural and tourism aspect, coinciding with the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season. The natural scenery during this period complements the beauty of purebred Arabian horses, catering to the interests of equestrian enthusiasts.
Notably, the Wilayat of Mirbat was historically a major center for Arabian horse trade and export. Hosting the tournament in Mirbat holds special significance as it represents a continuation of the wilayat’s rich heritage.
