China’s Foreign Trade Sees 3.5% Growth in August

Beijing: China’s foreign trade experienced a notable increase in August 2025, with total goods imports and exports rising by 3.5% year-on-year in yuan-denominated terms. This marks the third consecutive month of simultaneous growth in both exports and imports, as revealed by official data from the General Administration of Customs (GACC) released today.

According to Oman News Agency, the period from January to August 2025 also saw China’s goods trade expand by 3.5% year-on-year. This growth was primarily driven by a significant surge in exports, which increased by 6.9% over the same period. Conversely, imports registered a slight decrease of 1.2%, highlighting a divergence in the trade components.

The consistent growth in exports has been a crucial factor in the overall expansion of China’s trade during the first eight months of the year. The latest data underscores the resilience of China’s trade sector amidst global economic uncertainties and varying demand dynamics across international markets.
