vA delegation of the Journalists Syndicate branch in Basra headed today, Wednesday, to the capital, Baghdad, to participate in the annual ceremony on the occasion of the Iraqi Press Day, which will start tomorrow, Thursday.
The Head of the Syndicate branch, Sadiq Al-Ali, stated, “The Syndicate branch will participate with a large journalist and technician delegation in celebration of the National Journalism Day, whose activities will be held tomorrow, Thursday, the fifteenth of June, in Al-Zawraa Gardens, referring to the preparation of reservations in a hotel for the residence of journalists in order to provide a suitable atmosphere for them in order to participate in the celebration.
He added that the participation of the Basra branch in the major celebration of the Iraqi Press Day, the anniversary of the issuance of the first Iraqi newspaper, Al-Zawraa newspaper, on this day in the year 1869, is an effective participation due to the activities and events of the branch in general. In addition to the participation of the Basra Folklore Band to present the visual folklore that characterizes Basra.
