Aluminium Scrap Recycling Symposium to Kick Off in Muscat

Muscat: The third edition of the Aluminium Scrap Recycling Symposium is set to commence next Wednesday in Muscat. The event, organized by Sohar Aluminium in collaboration with the Environment Authority, aims to enhance the efficiency of Oman's aluminium scrap recycling sector by delving into the latest practices and developing operational mechanisms within the industry. Additionally, it will review key recommendations from the previous two editions.

According to Oman News Agency, the symposium is expected to draw participation from over 100 attendees, representing various entities, including government institutions, private sector companies, and organizations involved in the aluminium industry, scrap collection and recycling, and industrial waste management in Oman.

The symposium will showcase specialized working papers, visual presentations, and recent studies. It will also include panel discussions with experts, specialists, and representatives from leading organizations in the aluminium industry, such as the Gulf Aluminium Council.

Discussions during the event will address global trends and challenges in the recycling sector, explore ways to enhance local added value and investment opportunities, particularly those related to small and medium enterprises, and focus on best practices in sustainability, safety, and governance within the industry.
