Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, this evening, Thursday, a delegation of members of the House of Representatives from Nineveh Governorate, headed by Representative Khaled Al-Obaidi.
During the meeting, the general political situation in Iraq was discussed, and the importance of supporting the government’s efforts in implementing its programs and plans included within the government program, which was voted on in the House of Representatives. The current reality of Nineveh Governorate at various levels was also reviewed, and the most prominent problems it faces and impede the progress of implementing the developmental and economic plans.
The meeting also witnessed an emphasis on support for the governorate council elections scheduled to be held next December, and the importance of urging the people of the governorate to participate widely in them, in a way that ensures the smooth flow of the electoral process and guarantees the citizen’s right to choose.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of concerted efforts of all political and social forces in order to enhance the security and stability of the governorate, in a way that helps improve the situation of Nineveh at various levels, indicating that fighting corruption and providing services are of the utmost importance, stressing the lack of tolerance towards corruption files, and towards any negligence, that prevents the provision of services to citizens.
