Al Jabal Al Akhdar Welcomes Over 100,000 Visitors in First Half of 2026

Muscat: The number of visitors to the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate reached 101,608 during the period from the beginning of January to the end of June 2026, compared to 89,780 visitors during the same period last year-marking a 13.2 percent increase, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

According to Oman News Agency, the statistics further indicated that Omani visitors to Al Jabal Al Akhdar during the first half of 2026 numbered 40,082, while Saudi visitors accounted for 13,272, Emirati visitors for 395, Bahraini visitors for 285, Kuwaiti visitors for 332, and Qatari visitors for 149.

The data shows that visitors from other Arab nationalities totaled 4,863, whereas foreign nationals constituted the largest share of visitors, with 52,230.

The "Rose Spring Festival 2026" in Al Jabal Al Akhdar-held annually from late March through mid-April-generated significant tourism activity and played a key role in attracting numerous visitors from within the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.

The Rose Spring Festival stands as one of the seasonal events that enriches the tourism product of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, complementing its offerings in leisure tourism, adventure tourism, eco-tourism, and heritage tourism. It affords visitors the opportunity to observe firsthand the traditional and modern methods of rosewater production.

Moreover, the festival serves as a major tourist attraction due to its connection with the traditional craft of rosewater distillation, which is integral to local cosmetics, perfumery, Omani confectionery, and traditional Omani coffee.
