Al-Bajari reveals a government move to pursue and recover corrupt officials in Al-Kadhimi’s government

MP for the Sadiqoun bloc, Zahra Al-Bajari revealed today, Saturday, national efforts led by the government to pursue corrupt members of e Al-Kadhimi government, by issuing arrest warrants and recovery of Ministers involved in stealing public money, most notably the former oil Minister.

Al-Bajari said, according to a statement by her media office: "There are great national efforts being made to arrest and recover the corrupt members of the Al-Kadhemi government and government executive authorities that have begun with actual steps, and there are arrest and recovery warrants against the former Oil Minister."

Al-Bajari indicated: “Al-Sudani government is taking serious steps to fight the corrupt among the symbols of Al-Kadhimi government, and that the executive oversight authorities have initiated large corruption files carried out by a number of them, as reliable sources confirmed the issuance of arrest warrants, summons and freezing of funds against the former Oil Minister called Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, and that the concerned authorities monitored violations, great financial and administrative corruption, exploitation of the position, and obscene enrichment of the Minister when he assumed the position.

She added: "The Minister of Oil of Al-Kadhimi's government represented an important era of corruption and enrichment of public money, as Representative Al-Bukhari in the Integrity and Public Prosecution Commission opened 76 cases with documents, including a number of cases in which the arrest and freezing of funds were issued."

She showed: "Abdul-Jabbar took advantage of his position to appoint a large number of his brothers and cousins to important positions in the Ministry of Oil, in addition to registering companies with their names and the names of their wives, and forcing the ministry to grant huge projects to them in violation of the law."

Al-Bajari continued, that the regulatory sources confirmed the existence of inflation and excessive wealth in the funds of the former oil minister, and he has distinguished real estate in Basra and Baghdad estimated at millions of dollars, in addition to the purchase of 14 homes and residential villas in Basra and Baghdad, as well as the purchase of villas in a number of countries, including the UAE, Lebanon, Turkey and London. And the Caribbean islands, which called on the oversight authorities in integrity and the Public Prosecution to issue orders to freeze funds and recover the fugitive, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, and a large number of his relatives.
