Minsk: Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of Oman, met with Yuri Gorlov, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, in Minsk. The meeting focused on reviewing the bilateral relations between Oman and Belarus and exploring ways to enhance cooperation in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and food security.
According to Oman News Agency, the discussions included investment opportunities and the exchange of expertise and modern technologies in agricultural and food production. Both sides expressed their commitment to developing partnerships between institutions and companies in their respective countries to bolster food security and achieve mutual benefits. The importance of continued coordination and exchanges of visits and expertise was also highlighted to support bilateral cooperation in shared areas of interest.
The ministers praised the progress and growth in relations between Oman and Belarus, emphasizing their dedication to expanding economic and investment cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals. The Omani delegation included Hamoud Salim Al Towaiya, Ambassador of Oman to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to Belarus, Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Dr. Abdullah Masoud Al Harthy, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Oman.
In addition to the meeting, Dr. Al Habsi visited the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation in Minsk. There, he toured the facilities and production lines, gaining insights into the modern technologies employed in bio-industries and the production of fodder and agricultural ingredients. The visit aimed to explore partnership and investment opportunities, as well as the exchange of expertise in agriculture and biotechnology, contributing to sustainable development efforts and the reinforcement of food security systems in both countries.
