5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Sumatra, Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck today Indonesia’s North Sumatra province.

According to Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 61 kilometers southwest of Padangsidimpuan, and at a depth of 108 kilometers.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties or damage from the earthquake
