5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northeastern Afghanistan

Kabul: An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck northeastern Afghanistan today.

According to Oman News Agency, the US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 42 kilometers from the Jurm district in Badakhshan province, northern Afghanistan. The depth of the earthquake was measured at 202.4 kilometers.

No human or material losses were reported as a result of the earthquake.
