4th Edition of Excellence Competition for Private Libraries and Cultural Centres Unveiled

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has announced the launch of the fourth edition of the ‘Excellence Competition for Private Libraries and Cultural Centres’ for 2025. This initiative aims to foster the development of smart private libraries through a programme designed to explore ‘open knowledge horizons’.

According to Oman News Agency, the launch of this edition coincides with the annual celebrations of Arab Libraries Day, observed on March 10. The competition is significant as it plays a crucial role in activating libraries and civil cultural centres, which are pivotal to societal development.

This year’s competition places a strong emphasis on assessing libraries and civil cultural centres. This assessment involves a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of these institutions, grounded in the principles of the ‘open knowledge horizons’ programme.
